DisabilitYIMBY is the official newsletter of Accessible Climate Strategies (ACS) launched in 2024. DisabilitYIMBY presents the many connections between disability, urbanism, and climate change through analysis of current events and longer-form posts covering specific topics and intersections. Our work is based around a central thesis: the natural and built environment are central to people with disabilities' survival, independence, and well-being, and a well-designed built environment can simultaneously increase sustainability, climate resilience, and people with disabilities' overall quality of life.

About Accessible Climate Strategies (ACS)

Accessible Climate Strategies (ACS) is the nation’s only consulting firm specializing in the connections between disability and climate change. Founded in 2020 by disability climate justice advocate Alex Ghenis, ACS helps organizations bring disability and climate justice together through an approach that addresses intersections, impacts and disability-forward climate actions. Our comprehensive work covers topics including disaster impacts and readiness, displacement and migration, climate austerity, sustainable transportation, accessible housing and urbanism, renewables and cleantech, and – with each piece designed to illuminate consequences and chart paths toward inclusive mitigation and resilience.
